Job Description
This position is open to domestic candidates only. Job Description Performs a complete range of entry level duties to an operating area (Scrap operations, Melt Shop, Rolling Mill, or Logistics) to include handling, loading, stocking, and feeding material. Receive and participate in training programs and opportunities for entry level occupations in plant operating areas to acquire skills and abilities necessary to perform fill-in duties and responsibilities or to receive permanent assignment. Follow established procedures and written or verbal instructions.
Duties & Responsibilities :
- Work involves somewhat repetitive and basic tasks, routine in nature, requiring care in safely handling material and loading appropriate product on designated conveyance
- Load and unload trucks and freight cars, truck or carry material, supplies and parts to warehouse, stockroom, or work areas; operate switching mechanism on tracks; couple and uncouple rail cars, set brakes or wheel blocks.
- Operate forklifts, front-end loaders, bobcats and other equipment to perform daily tasks.
- Clean machinery and other equipment or apparatus, assist maintenance personnel as needed handling tools, parts, and perform routine maintenance on any equipment used.
The Individual :
- High school diploma or GED Preferred
- Two or more years of work experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- High level of safety awareness
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule, including holidays, nights, and weekends
