Our Investment Office (INVO), Private Equity (PE) Team is currently seeking an Investment Manager (IM) to be responsible for partial administration of the PE Program as directed and will work with or coordinate the work of Investment Officers and other INVO staff.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Provide leadership and analysis in constructing PE’s strategic and tactical investment approach.
• Conduct due diligence on proposed investments, evaluating terms, financial statements, legal documents, partnership agreements, and other economic characteristics of investment alternatives.
• Direct and oversee the monitoring of existing investments, including representation on partnership advisory committees.

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

• MBA or possession of an advanced degree in finance or another applicable technical field.
• Professional certification such as a CPA, CFA, or CAIA.
• In-depth knowledge and successful experience investing across various vehicles within the private equity sector to include exposure to co-investments, direct investments, and fund of funds.
• Commitment to strong governance practices, transparency, and compliance rigor.
• Experience mentoring and developing staff.
• Ability to synthesize information quickly and to prioritize tasks, balancing the needs/demands of multiple constituencies and deadlines.
• Decisiveness combined with a commitment to foster a collaborative work environment.

CalPERS Disclosure Requirements
